When Shelagh Herzog, from Austin, Texas, was a little girl, her grandmother made her a crocheted toy using yarn, an empty margarine container and a tiny baby doll. Years later, while cleaning out the attic, Shelagh found the doll. Remembering how much she had enjoyed playing with it as a child, she had the idea of making a modern version of the doll. With her designs in hand, Shelagh approached a friend of hers who introduced Shelagh to a sample maker. With samples in hand Shelagh quickly found her first customer and Peapod Enterprises was born in 2004.
