Monsieur Alexandre is a very special, traditional 40cm teddy bear from Moulin Roty which comes in his own sturdy presentation box and would make an excellent gift.
Monsieur Alexandre is made from rich chestnut fur, is wonderfully soft and squidgy, has swivel jointed legs enabling him to sit down easily and all of his paws are lined with a taupe coloured canvas cotton. He also has a long pointed nose tipped with brown velvet and securely fastened tiny black glass eyes.
M. Alexandre is wearing a red striped cotton night shirt which fastens with pearlescent buttons at the neck, and which follows the curve of his lovely round belly beautifully! Finally he also wears a long and gorgeous knitted woollen night cap.
I bought this lovely chap years ago, whilst in France. Though he wasn't a Bambolina buy, I thought I should let you know what a wonderful buy he was for us. He has been best friend to my great niece for several years. He has swum in the washing machine which he survived without mishap - though I don't think it was advised, but after falling into the smelly end of our pig sty it was that or being disposed of. He has taken part in tea parties, climbed Cader Idris, travelled round Europe and right across America. Now retired from child care, he is living in my elderly Mum's room and she spends time chatting to him. He is, apparently, better at solving crossword clues than she is ! The only down side, which might affect his chances of adoption by some people, is that he has been mistaken for a mole, rather than a bear! He has small eyes and ears compared with most teddy bear and is not always immediately a hit with adults who meet him. Chilren, however, all seem to fall for his unusual looks and he is asked about regularly by young people who I would have expected to have grown out of teddies. He has proved to be well worth the money we paid and I wish we had purchased the furniture that was available for him too as I have seen the bed and it is far more sturdy than other brands and would become a family heirloom, to be handed down to future generations.
This doll can hand washed in luke warm water using woolite. It is best to tie up any hair to prevent tangling. Air dry the doll in a warm place with the hair in the desired style. The dolls clothes can also be handwashed. They should be dried flat and not tumble dried, smoothing out creases whilst damp. A cool iron can be used if required.
